Leading catering butcher Midlands Foods has made a substantial investment in its transport infrastructure. The meat wholesaler has purchased twelve, advanced temperature controlled delivery vans, allowing it to develop the business further and continue impressive growth. The new fleet is made up of new Mercedes, and VW Crafters. All trucks are temperature controlled to ensure deliveries stay fresh no matter where they are going in the UK or the ambient conditions. The trucks are also equipped with new state of the art tracking systems, using Navman GPS systems, enabling Midland Foods to monitor the routes each truck is taking, helping with time management and efficiency. The technology will also help with customer delivery enquires, as Midland Foods can track drivers instantly to find out how long delivery will be. Managing Director of Midland Foods, Russell Heptinstall: says “We’re delighted with our fleet and hope to give our customers a better service as a result. We only use experienced drivers with good levels of hygiene training and high levels of experience and knowledge of both the areas they are delivering too and our customers and products. These new trucks now match up to the impressive quality and experience of the drivers that we employ.” |
